DAY 1: Huaraz  - Chiquián (3200 masl) - Llamac 3250 (masl).

We leave from the huaraz city by van, towards the Chiquian City, passing through cities of the Callejon de Huaylas as Recuay, Ticapampa, Catac, observing the mountain chain of the Cordillera Blanca and the Conococha lake (4050 masl). Making a short stop in Chiquian, then continue up to the Llamac village, where we camp and meet the donkey drivers and donkeys who accompany us during the trekking.

DAY 2: Llamac - Quartelhuain (4200 masl).

In our way to Quartelhuain we follow the Llamac river, passing through villages as Pocpa (3475 masl) and Palca (3825 masl), observing mining campsites and a variety of wild flora and fauna and the Ninashanca mountain (5607 masl), and finally reach the Quartelhuain campsite. About 5 to 6 hours.

DAY 3: Quartelhuian - Cacananpunta Pass (4700 masl) - Mitucocha Lake (4230 masl).

We ascend up to the Cacananpunta Pass, where we can find medicinal plants, and observe the Cordillera Huallanca and the Pucacocha lake, then descend to the place called Janca and reach the Mitucocha Campsite, from where we can observe mountains as Ninashanca (5607 masl), Rondoy (5870 masl), Jirishanca (6094 masl), Jirishanca chico (5446 masl). About 5 to 6 hours.

DAY 4: Mitucocha Lake - Carhuac Pass (4640 masl) - Carhuacocha Lake (4138 masl).

From the Mitucocha Campsite we ascend to the Carhuac Pass, through the Yana-Yana valley, and reach the Carhuacocha Campsite, where we have the famous view of mountains of the Cordillera Huayhuash as Jirishanca chico (5446 masl), Jirishanca (6094 masl), Yerupajá chico (6089 masl), Yerupajá (6617 masl) and Carnicero (5960 masl). About 5 to 6 hours.

DAY 5: Rest day.

Gangrajanca,  Siula and Quesillococha Lakes

This day we visit the three beautiful lakes of Gangrajanca,  Siulá and Quesillococha.

DAY 6: Carhuacocha Lake - Siulá Pass (4834 masl) - Huayhuash (4345 masl).

We pass through the three beautiful lakes of Gangrajanca,  Siulá and Quesillococha,  walking uphill we reach a natural lookout from where we have a spectacular view of these lakes as well as mountains as Jirishanca chico (5446 masl), Jirishanca (6094 masl), El Toro (5965 masl), Yerupajá (6617 masl), Siulá (6344 masl) and El Carnicero (5960 masl), then reach the Siula Pass from where we can observe other mountains as Puscanturpa (5652 masl), Trapecio (5653 masl), Jurau (5674 masl) and the Cordillera Raura, then descend observing the Carnicero lake and finally reach the Huayhuash  campsite. About 7 to 8 hours.

DAY 7: Huayhuash - Portachuelo or Huayhuash Pass (4785 masl) - Viconga Lake (4400 masl).

Portachuelo or Huayhuash Pass is the limit of the departments of Huanuco and Lima, from this pass we can observe mountains such as Pumarinri (5465 masl), Cuyoc (5550 masl), Puscanturpa (5652 masl), Millpo (5330 masl) and the  Cordillera Raura, as well as herds of Alpcas and Llamas, we pass near the viconga lake and reach the campsite where there are natural hot spring baths. About 5 to 6 hours.

DAY 8: Viconga Lake - Pumarinri Summit (5465 masl) - Cuyoc Pass (5000 masl) - Cruce San Antonio (4492 msnm).

We leave at dawn, walking over the moraine and reach the ice, then start climbing up to the Summit, from where we can observe many mountains of the Cordillera Huayhuash and the Cordillera Raura, then descend crossing the Cuyoc Pass and finally reach the Cruce San Antonio campsite. About 7 to 8 hours.

DAY 9: Cruce San Antonio - Paso San Antonio (5079 masl) - Calinca (3600 masl).

From the San Antonio Pass we have a panoramic view of mountains as  Jurau, Carnicero, Sarapo, Siula Grande, Yerupaja, Rasac, Tsacra, Huacrish, Rosario, and others, as well as lakes as Jurau, Sarapococha and the famous campsite of Joe Simpon – (Touching the Void), and finally descend to the Calinca campsite. About 7 to 8 hours.

DAY 10: Calinca - Huatiac (4253 masl).

After leaving from the campsite, we ascend through the Calinca valley, passing through the Huayllapa village, then ascend again through the Millpo valley and finally reach the Huatiac campsite in the Huancho valley, from the site we can observe mountains as Tapush (5223 masl), Diablomudo (5223 masl), Angocancha (5450 masl), Juituhuarco (5449 masl). About 6 to 7 hours.

DAY 11: Huatiac - Punta Tapush Pass (4760 masl) - Cashpapampa (4500 masl).

We pass through the Inka Wain campsite, then ascend to the Punta Tapush Pass  with views of mountains as Tapush (5223 masl),  Diablomudo (5223 masl) and the Susucocha lake, passing through the limits of Lima and Ancash Departments, and finally reach the Cashpapampa campsite (Base Camp of Diablomudo mountain). About 3 to 4 hours.

DAY 12: Cashpapampa - Diablomudo Summit (5223 masl) - Jahuacocha Lake (4066 masl).

We leave at dawn, walking over  the moraine and reach the ice and start climbing up to the Summit, from where we can observe important mountains of the Cordillera Huayhuash, then descend through the Huacrish valley and reach the campsite near the Beautiful lake of Jahuacocha. About 11 to 12 hours.

DAY 13: Rest day (Optional).

Solteracocha Lake

We can visit the following places.

    • The Cerro Amarillo (Yellow hill).
    • The Solteracocha lake, where we can find remains of a plane that fell in 1954.

DAY 14: Jahuacocha Lake - Pampallamac Pass (4300 masl) - Llamac - Huaraz.

We ascend to the Pampallamac Pass, the last one in our trekking, from where we can observe part of the cordillera blanca, then descend to the llamac village, where our prívate van will be waiting for to take us back to Huaraz city.  About 4 to 5 hours.
